As of June 2026, Buittle Quest is embarking on their biggest project to date. This is a dynamic time for the Port, with Scottish Water works now complete on the South Shore.

With funding support from Dumfries & Galloway Council’s Coastal Benefit Fund and Foundation Scotland, Buittle Quest are beginning the journey of making the North Shore of Palnackie Port both safe and accessible to the community. In the long term the charity hopes to develop an attractive destination for smaller leisure boats.

Events will be held locally to keep the community up to date and to give them the opportunity to feed in to developments on the North Shore. There will also be a heritage project to capture memories of Palnackie, giving the opportunity to promote the industrial and social heritage of the Port.

Keep an eye on the charity’s socials for updates.
